Can nutrition assist in immunity of the avian flu?

October 31, 2009 Posted by admin

I live in Alaska and the Avian flu has been a major concern. Epidemics will be more frequent along with natural disasters. I have no health insurance and my first line of defense is what I eat. I am learning about indoor gardening. If anyone can suggest vegetable to grow I would appreciate it.

ok as said before its very unlikely u catch it… I lived a large amount of time worried bout it making research etc and found that it is scary but you wont get it so easily. Now, about the nutrition, there is no way to prevent infections though u can give strengh to ur body by eating good. If you have a strong immune system it is more likely to beat illness like the flu. I read you can actually beat avian flu when it is not a so bad case, so well wether or not it helps, eat well so you will prevent other stuff going on.

The Anatomy of a Natural Health Education

October 28, 2009 Posted by admin

The Clayton College of Natural Health is a distance education instituted devoted to helping people gain accreditation in various realms of health related fields. Some individuals benefit from taking distance education courses from this institution but others may not be suited for such a program. Following is some information about the Clayton College of Natural Health for you to consider.

First of all you want to think about your specific goals. You may find that you are heading down a career path that requires you to become very familiar with holistic nutrition, traditional naturopathy or natural health. These are the only subjects that degree programs fall under at the Clayton College of Natural Health.

Other programs offer certificates for subjects like herbal studies, iridology studies, healthcare professional studies and companion animal studies. There is no degree earned though these four subjects and I’m not quite sure how a certificate from any of those subjects could be used.

Some of the information offered by the Clayton College of Natural Health is a little unfamiliar to most. If you want to earn a degree in traditional naturopathy it would be best to look into the field a little before signing up for any classes. You may find that you are really interested in taking a holistic approach to your health studies.

There are some concerns about taking classes for accreditation at a distance education institution like the Clayton College of Natural Health. Since this seems to fall into the realm of medicine in a holistic kind of way it is certain that some may find the programs to be a little too unscientific for many healthcare professionals.

Consider where you will be employed in the future. If your goal is to work as a nutritionist for a large hospital you may want to forgo the Clayton College of Natural Health as an educational option. However, if you want to start a health and wellness consultation business you might be attracted to the degrees and certificates that the Clayton College of Natural Health has to offer.

The alternative health field is not for everyone. Many people prefer taking the traditional route to healthcare and nutrition. However, many others are drawn to alternative medicine as well. It is important to note that not everyone recognizes the Clayton College of Natural Medicine as a means of valid accreditation. You may want to conduct a little research before filling out an application.

How can people be so ignorant about dogs and dog health and nutrition?

October 28, 2009 Posted by admin

Okay so my parents stop by the other night and we tell them about our dogs new food….California naturals…

And they looked at us and asked "Oh your not feeding beneful…we told you to try beneful"

And I replied beneful is not a good food, especially for one that has had the problems that one of ours has

And we explained by getting the better quality food that you pay more upfront but in the long run it costs less because they eat less of it because its more filling

And they were like your dogs are getting the amount of food they need and were like no they are its healthy more filling food.

And we weren’t trying to sell them on it or anything but they are like well our dog is very picky and will only eat beneful she even picks out the colors she doesn’t like….

I’m like thats great but this is what we do

Now my parents think they are well to do and maybe they have a huge house and a status symbol dog…as in a bred down designer poodle….Tiny toy poodle and this dog has had problems..

And they were telling us that she was at the vet for some reason or another and the vet told them her liver levels were high and that she recommends running some tests on her and they told us that since they weren’t that high they were just going to put it off for awhile and they think she will get better….

How naieve can you be?

Ofcourse these are also the people who think my one dog is sickly because he has allergies and doesn’t want anything to do with our other dog because she is "A Big Dog" (yeah a 20 pound big scary dog) and a mutt

I love that dog and I want to tell them to wake up and and realize that what they are doing isn’t best for this dog…after all she was mine at one point when I lived at home…and tell them how to take care of her (I was the primary care giver of the dogs growing up..they just paid for everything) They don’t know what they are doing and I hesitate to say it but maybe they do just consider her an accesory or status symbol but I just wish they would listen

Anybody know where I’m coming from…I just feel for the dog and get so upset trying to explain why we do what we do…

Sometimes they ask for advice but when we give it they shoot it down…

Can I get some support and advice on this…I guess I just need to step back and realize she isn’t my dog anymore
I didn’t take her with me when I moved because she was a family dog and apparently they paid too much for her for me to just get to take her
Just incase anyone asked that
the dog isn’t neglected she has food, water, shelter, I guess love but I wish they would do the test and find a better food
Oh my dog has seasonal respiratory allergies but they are under control…have been for awhile but the change in food helped…my dog is allergic to corn

I can’t even list all the problems there dog has but she is badly bred (designer dog)

Everyone is blind to certain things.

Everyone has subjects that they just won’t listen on.

Advice is best when it’s asked for.

As far as the vet issue, if they won’t take the dog to the vet, then perhaps it’s your responsibility to do so. I had to do this with my in-law’s dog. Ask the vet if the food could be contributing to the problem. If it is, then all you can do is pass on the advice.

It hurts to bang your head against the wall, I know. So, it’s your call when you stop trying.

Inspired by the personal healing experience and knowledge he gained, he began sharing the compounds with others and gave birth to the USHA Research Institute, The Fig Tree and the Healing Village.

I know what I want to be, but how do I get there?

October 25, 2009 Posted by admin

I’m in university right now 2nd year, majoring in math

in the past few years i’ve developed a passion for natural health and nutrition, fitness, writing, web development, yoga… because of personal experience

i now realize that it’s my destiny to be working in this field
i want to be writing books, running a killer health website, and helping people with their health

but what path should i take to be capable of all this?
there are so many different things involved here

i need to learn how to write, i need learn more about natural health (something I can’t learn in university unfortunately because they don’t have anything natural related), I need to learn web development (more seriously), I need to learn to run a business

i feel like i can do all this on my own
learn it all on my own i mean
from books and other things
but i must have some kind of formal education, right?
but what? what kind of degree is best?

please give me your advice,
i’lll take it all to heart

Honestly I would take the first step and change your major to nutrition then you can become a nutritionist. This would be a good first step. Also networking with people in the field would be good. A web site is very simple to create. It would be helpful to get a good friend with a good marketing background to help you. Marketing is key for any online company. You must must must get your name out there.

Anyone can write a book. As long as you have the basic idea there you can find someone to assist you in the writting process (if you have the $$$).

Being a nutritionist you will be able to give health advice all day long. I think that should be your first step (get the nutrition/dietary degree) then build your experience and cash flow and venture out to your own thing.

Why do medical personnel not address acid body pH? Why are medical doctors not more educated on nutrition?

October 25, 2009 Posted by admin

Proper nutrition and other more natural treatments can be used to treat a lot of problems rather than just using drugs so often. There is a lot of research showing that cancer thrives in an acidic body, and cannot survive in a normal, more alkaline state. I’ve heard of too many doctors that refuse to admit that natural cures really work. I can’t understand why they would refuse something that works, something that really helps. Is there a way to improve our health system?

Doctors are not interested because that is not part of their profession.

The easiest way to improve the health system would be for people to educate themselves much better as to who they should go and see, and for what problem. At the moment almost everyone just waits until they get sick, then go to a medical doctor. If people were smarter, they would manage themselves better between visits and keep better all round health.
