Can anyone summarize this article in a half a page to a page summary?http://beefmagazine.com/health/0215-immun

November 10, 2009 Posted by admin

You could start by using the "auto summarizing" option in Microsoft Word. From that point, edit the document yourself so that it doesn’t look too elementary.

There are some websites that are willing to do your homework for a price. However, I think it would be wiser to invest in summarizing the page yourself in the long run rather than hiring someone.

This question is geared for models. I am helpng a friend of mine compile a nutrition seminar for a modeling workshop. If you the model were to attend this nutrition seminar what would you want to hear and learn? We are also including homeopahic and natural and herbal aspects of nutrition and health, as well as appearance and fitness.

http://pcrm.org

good doses of Vitamin C – 1000 mg every 3 hours or a few times a day.

antioxidants from rich fruits like berries and acai.
nutrients from dark green leafies… even juiced… fabulous for energy

Health aspects of homemade vs. storebought peanut butter?

November 8, 2009 Posted by admin

Do you know if I made my own peanut butter at home–by grinding up whole peanuts (I’ve made cashew butter once, it was ok). But do you know any information regarding the nutrition info of a homemade peanut butter? Right now I buy the Smuckers natural stuff, I wonder also if it would be more cost effective. Like how many ounces of peanuts would it take to make so many ounces of peanut butter? Thanks.

you can do this in a food processor, but many health food stores have a special machine to do this. there is a very beneficial oil which separates from the mashed peanuts. processors remove that oil and sell it as cooking oil.
it also depends on the freshness of the peanuts, and the soil where they are grown in. don’t know how cost effective it is, but don’t your family to have the best?

also, there is no salt or additives or presertatives added in your own mixture.

if you can, make your own.

Does the herbal product called Shenmin really work?

November 6, 2009 Posted by admin

Shenmin was recommended to me by my local health and nutrition store as a natural remedy for balding. I have seen ads for this product that "guarantee" that they will regrow your hair. I’ve also been told to try Avacore. What’s the truth?

do not know but you can try:
Baldness, hair grow & regrow formula

8 oz. avocado oil
30 gram rosemary
5 drops peppermint oil
mix these three ingredients
you can either place them in a glass container (heat resistant) and place in an oven for 20 minutes at 300 deg F OR place in a dark colored glass bottle and store a dark place for 6 weeks
once you have completed the above step, strain the oil to remove the rosemary
(use cheese cloth or similar cloth and squeeze the extra oil out)
once you have strained the oil you can massage one teaspoonful into your scalp three times a day
store the unused portion in a dark colored bottle in a cool dark place (not cold), you can store it for up to 3 months

I suffer from poor vision and lazy eye, any suggestions for eye health?

November 5, 2009 Posted by admin

I am 47 and have had a lazy eye since youth. I also suffer with poor vision and was interested in perhaps nutritional support or herbal nutrition, or other natural help for vision.

I have friend age 65 who has been doing vision therapy with a specially trained optometrist for the last few months and having great results. These are specially trained optometrists who screen for obvious medical problems and then do a regimen of exercises and techniques designed to strengthen the eye and improve function.

Ophthalmologists do not generally offer this therapy and stick to medications and surgery to treat the eye. I’m not saying one is better than the other, but that depending upon what’s going on with your eyes holistically, that would guide you in choosing a path.

Get your eyes screened first from an optometrist. If there is a medical/surgical issue, they’ll refer you to an ophthalmologist. Get a referral from someone you trust.

Who Is Right: Medical Doctors Or Natural Health Promoters? Part 2

November 5, 2009 Posted by admin

While the allopathic approach to health certainly has it’s share of faults, the natural health approach is not perfect either.

Probably the biggest issue the natural health community faces is the issue of quality and truth. In other words, what really works, and what doesn’t? You sometimes have to dig through a lot of dirt to find the gold, as the proverb says.

Often times a particular nutrient, plant, or source may be helpful, but the end product is not. One study showed that some antioxidant products actually had an oxidative effect. Why? Because the company producing them had not properly researched, developed, and tested their products.

The greatest strength of the natural approach is that it generally works with your body, instead of against it or in spite of it, like the medical approach does. There are exceptions to this, though. Many herbs are really just natural drugs, so you should be careful with them.

But nutritional supplements, for example, work with your body to strengthen, build up, and equip your body to protect, defend and restore your health naturally, with no side effects. The flip side of the coin is of course that nutrition takes time to do it’s job. In critical cases, something more abrupt is needed – perhaps something the medical community has to offer.

That leads us to the conclusion: perhaps the solution is for natural and medical health practices to work together to create an even healthier you.

What if you were to use improved nutrition, nutritional supplements and other natural methods to naturally improve your health, but still use “conventional” medical approaches when needed? The key is to balance the cost and the benefits. Is not feeling your cold symptoms worth the potential side effects and long term health damage that you could get from using cold medication? On the other hand, if you have an infection, is running the risk of a serious infection or running the risk of damage from antibiotics worse?

Get the facts, balance the issues, and use natural and medical approaches together for the best of health!
