Does anyone have some unique and fun themes for a kindergarten class?

March 15, 2010 Posted by admin

I’ve got the basics, and I’m challenging myself this year to 182 themed days (every day of school). I’d appreciate anyone who’d like to post something they think is appropriate for kids 5-6 and is relatively easy to explain. If you have any fun ideas to go with the theme, please post them as well! Thanks a bunch.

All of the themes I already have:
The Alphabet, numbers, seasons, vacations, colors, shapes, opposites, careers, books, hygiene, space (astronomy), feelings, nutrition, money, recycling, sports, weather, In the Future, heros/heroines, safety, holidays, America, plants, traveling, exercise, computers, magic, family, Our Community, puzzles, performing, cooking, matter (solid/liquid/gas), rocks, mysteries, cartoons, pirates, & My body….

Sounds like a lot, but there is SO much more out there I’m missing. Thanks everyone!

Vemma Truth Exposed

March 15, 2010 Posted by admin

http://www.JumpstartYourDreams.com/nm.htm

Vemma, What is vemma? What are their Products? Is it a good opportunity? Can you really make money with this opportunity? These are all valid questions for someone researching the vemma business opportunity and that’s the reason for this article. After reading every word of this article, you will be better equipped to make an educated decision on weather or not this is the opportunity for you. Lets begin with the company.
About The Company: Vemma was founded by BK Boreyko and his family, Vemma’s parent company, New Vision®, is a leader in health and wellness. With over $1 billion in total retail sales, this company helped pioneer liquid nutrition over 14 years ago by introducing the #1 selling liquid mineral supplement in USA.

The Products : Mangosteen, known as the “Queen of All Fruits” has been used for centuries by Asian health practitioners for its nutritional benefits and delicious flavor. Combine the antioxidant-rich power of mangosteen with vitamins, plant-sourced minerals, organic glyconutrient-rich aloe vera and decaffeinated organic green tea and you’ve created the ultimate nutritional foundation.* Introducing the Vemma Nutrition Program” – Essential for Life! Vemma’s powerful liquid formulas make it easy to get the vitamins, minerals and antioxidants you need for a solid nutritional foundation, bio available (body-ready), delicious and easy to take!

The Truth About The Vemma Business Opportunity!: Ok, so I think that we’ve established that Vemma is a solid company with solid backing and revolutionary Products. So what does that mean for you? Absolutely Nada, Nothing.

Like any business, Vemma included, unless you KNOW how to market, how to generate leads, and the PRINCIPLES behind succeeding in this industry, you will struggle.

Let me explain, 95%-97% of all new distributors (Home Business Owners) are thought to make a list of 100 people they know, including friends and family. While I see nothing wrong with shearing your business opportunity and products with friends and family, that should not be your primary method of building you business. While some people will experience success using that method, a much larger group will not.

The reason for that is this, they’re not looking for what you have to offer, their not your target audience. But, this is practiced in the network marketing industry on a daily bases. As a result, so many new, very excited and motivated distributors struggle, an eventually quit. So what is the formula for success with vemma.

The Formula For Success With Vemma. The reason for success in any company including this one, is not the products, or compensation plan , if it were, everyone that got started in this industry would be successful. Success in this industry begins with YOU. People don’t join companies they join people, so as an entrepreneur because that’s what you are, it is imperative that you EDUCATE yourself first and foremost, learn how to market, learn what to market and develop yourself, ALWAYS be learning and growing.

This is the true formula for success, and leads to most good in the long run. If you follow that formula, and really SEEK knowledge to market your business like a professional… then you will have major advantages over most Vemma Distributors.

Getting a Proper Diet and Nutrition to Stay Healthy

March 14, 2010 Posted by admin

More and more people are now going back to basics-in terms of food and health practices-because they would want to achieve prime health and fitness. With the fast-paced, technologically-driven world people are now living, who would not want to veer away from certain medical conditions and illnesses.

Experts say that because of the busy courses of people’s lives, many of them tend to forget some of the vital fragments in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, which is diet and nutrition.

Identifying the thin line

Although the terms “diet” and “nutrition” have different definitions, they are greatly connected to each other. When defined, “diet” refers to the food and liquid intake of a person while “nutrition” pertains to the science of dealing with food and nourishment. Sometimes, many people get confused with the meanings of the two because they automatically assume that less-through diet-will not affect their health’s overall condition.

Experts say that more than the issues of food and liquid intake and the science of food and nourishment, diet and nutrition can revolve around nutritional information on various dietary supplements and the benefits vitamins and minerals to a person’s body. By making yourself familiar with latest diet and nutrition topics, trends, and tips can lead you to the renewal of your health and well being commitment inside your home.

You must remember that it’s never too late to redirect your eating habits, but before you take that drastic change, learn what are the common diet and nutrition mistakes so you can avoid them. Here are some realizations that can help you get by:

1. Don’t make careless assumption that the food choices you have are better than they actually are. Many experts believe that people who are very particular about diet and nutrition have larger tendencies of thinking and believing that their food choices are healthier than they really are. It is always advisable to eat whole, fresh, and unprocessed foods whenever possible to stay health and fit.

2. Don’t confuse yourself over carbohydrates. In some people that low carbohydrates diets are effective. But there are also those that say that there are excellent carbs that make people eat less. If you are confused, assess yourself first before cutting down on carbs totally. A consultation with a licensed dietician can help you determine how much carbohydrates does your body need and can also help you come up with a diet pattern will be good for you and can have long term effects.

3. Don’t think you’re eating too much when you’re actually not. Doctors say that one of the most common mistakes people make is that they overestimate and underestimate the amount of food their body needs. People are advised to monitor the portion sizes of your food to ensure that they are getting the key nutrients that their body needs.

4. Know when to eat and when not to eat. Experts believe that overeating and under eating may put an individual’s health at risk because it disrupts blood sugar and insulin levels. Knowing when to eat and when not can ensure that the person will get the nutrition the body type needs. Always make sure that you eat something every three hours and don’t starve before eating the next meal.

5. Don’t neglect the importance of regular exercise. There is now denying the wonderful benefits that regular exercise can do to people especially to those who want to achieve optimum health and fitness. To ensure that you stay healthy despite being on a diet, make exercise a regular part of your life can definitely contribute to your overall wellness.

Awaken to the Benefits of Natural Food Supplements

March 14, 2010 Posted by admin

If health food supplements are supposed to be natural solutions for dietary deficiencies in human beings, all natural health supplements should come from human food.
After all, fish eat fish food, dogs eat dog food, cats eat cat food, cows eat grass and dung beetles eat dung. That, by the way is how its always been.

Naturally it would be safest for humans to supplement their diet with human natural food supplements. Consider the overall benefits – weight loss, no obesity, natural cures, healthy lifestyle, weight control. What more would one ask for?

When natural really is natural

Carrots and whole grains are natural and healthy for humans that have been proven. So why do so many supplement manufacturers use strange ingredients in their products that have no safe, long-term, non-toxic history of use? The answer is not complex really. There is no other market for this kind of junk, so, as no one else wants it, it’s cheap and plentiful.

what scientists don’t really know are the long-term detrimental effects of these non-human foods. Who really wants to be a guinea pig? For instance, let’s take dunalliela salina thats used as a carotenoid; it grows in stagnant polluted water that no living creature eats. Its use in food supplements is based not on nutrition but on profit margins and hype-marketing.

Natural foods and food supplements are strong marketing expressions. And the majority of marketers have no issues with concocting tales, stretching the truth and misusing these words to promote their “unnatural” products particularly if it increases their profit margin.

Human food chain nutrition

If you want nutritional foods that go way beyond natural, you ought to consider whole food and even organic foods. These natural food supplements use traditional fruits, vegetables and whole grains as their source of ingredients. They are even guaranteed to be free of all toxins and have been proven to work. Hundreds of thousands of satisfied people in dozens of countries around the world have been using natural supplements for over 50 years to look and feel their best – naturally.

Benefits of natural food supplements

They encourage access to key nutrients that prevent disease. Thus they eliminate the population of diseased, malnourished customers.

They make artificial food supplements more expensive, putting their purchase out of reach of more consumers.

With the loss of vitamin sales, a lot of artificial health retailers will be forced out of business. This is good for the health industry at large. The fewer health shops, the less competition there is for prescription drugs.

They set the stage for the future banning of artificial food supplements that prevent disease such as blueberries, broccoli and garlic.

They allow for the arrest and incrimination of key proponents of bad health (drug manufacturers, retailers and consumers), removing them from the public stage so that they no longer have a voice.

They allow natural health critics to use circular logic to attack the drug industry.

Choose best "liquid meal" from ones like Slim Fast, Boost, Glucerna. or suggest another one?

March 14, 2010 Posted by admin

My purpose is to replace a meal on the run for the best nutrition and least sugar / fat….but taste is important too. Which one (s) are your picks?

slim fast (chocolate milkshake flavor) tastes good and my doctor said it was ok for a meal replacement when i was having trouble eating due to stress. i would drink 2 slim fasts a day. i swear it kept me alive for several months when i just could not eat.

it tastes best to me when it is mixed with ice-cold whole milk (i used whole milk to get more calories) using a blender. sometimes i even added a couple of ice cubes to make it thicker and colder.

my 18 month’s son refrain from chewing food, prefer liquid how can i convert him to solid food.?

March 13, 2010 Posted by admin

My son keeps any solid food in his mouith for long periods and finallly vomit out, he prefer liquid or semisolid foods like pulp, custurds icecream etc. feeding him is a difficult and prolonged issue. during his lunch or dinner session when feed him he keeps teh food below his tounge and closes his mouth and thats end of story he will be in this position for hours together unless food oozes out his mouth. Chewing and gulping is difficult job for him. But this is not the case when we give him some pieces of papad or soem fried stuff, first one of two time he eats but then it is the same repitation. he in not very much fond of food. We are worried about his nutrition in this age, please provide he some solution.

Stop offering him foods he "likes" His problem is that he doesn’t like the texture and the fact that he has to now chew his food. Stop giving him the pulpy foods and continue to offer solids. If he doesn’t eat it at first that’s fine don’t give him anything else. He will not starve. He will get the hint though that he doesn’t rule mealtime and that he is expected to eat what is in front of him.

Is Nature’s Plus Source Of Life Red Liquid Mixed Berry a substitute for real vegetables?

March 12, 2010 Posted by admin

My hubby is a bit hard-headed about the foods he will eat. He tends to really dislike veggies. He is 100 lbs overweight and does not eat his veggies. He takes Nature’s Plus Source Of Life Red Liquid Mixed Berry as a supplement every day, and when I ask him to eat veggies, he says that he drinks his Source of Life stuff and that counts for all the nutrition he needs. He does exercise.

How do I convince him that he really does need to eat veggies/fruits? I am not skinny myself (about 50 lbs overweight) but I do try to eat veggies and exercise regularly. I want us to both be healthier, but it is hard to get him to try new foods. What should I do?

berries are fruit, not vegetables. if he wants to drink something, try the Vfusion drinks by V8. they have fruit and vegetables juices in them, but taste like fruit. I drink the strawberry banana one and really like it. I’ve had the others, too. they are good, but not as good. you can get single serving bottles at convenience stores to try them out.

How long can I do an all liquid diet? (fasting) ?

March 12, 2010 Posted by admin

I want to start a sensible eating plan, but I decided that for a few days I’d do nothing but all liquid (water, coffee, chicken/beef broth). For the first 24 hours I was starving but now I’m actually doing fine. How long can I keep this up? (safely?)

By the way – I’m taking vitamins, so my body wont be starved of nutrition, And I’m over weight, so I can definitely live off ‘the fat of the land’ for a while.

I thought maybe I could eat a piece of boneless skinless chicken a day, or half a sandwich, or a hard boiled egg, once a day, so I’d get protein too.

You see, the point of fasting is to "detox"–you’re removing all the toxins in your body because you are giving your body a break from digesting. (I don’t remember where I read this, but somewhere it said that when we eat, our body puts digesting as its first priority, and will abandon whatever else it was doing. It will store it away to "save for later." However, often they never get to later, because we keep putting stuff if!) By giving it a break, our body has the time and capability to clean out all the "bad stuff" from our liver, colon, kidneys, etc.

When you have a piece of chicken, or a sandwich, or a hard boiled egg, you’re just undoing the whole purpose of the fast. You’re kind of either going to do it or not. Don’t worry about nutrition deficiency, you’ll be fine with how long you’re doing it (I would recommend anywhere from 3-7 days the first time, and then 10-14 days another time down the road, should you decide. This is adequate time without doing harm to your body. I think 7 is a good time to shoot for.)

But *your* liquid diet isn’t that good for you. Caffeine is full of acid, and dehydrates the body. Broths are FULL of sodium, which just retains water/leads to bloating. If you are to do a liquid diet (better than a water fast), do 100% fruit juice (meaning no added sweeteners; if you have a juicer juice away, it’s even better!) and water it down so you don’t get as many sugars as normal. And, of course, water. But please, no coffee, it’s terrible for a fast!

Also remember that coming off the fast is just as important as getting into it. The longer you’re on the fast, the more time it will take to reintroduce your taste-buds and stomach to foods. For the first few days, stick to raw foods. They recommend raw vegetables the very first day, and then fruits the next day. Keep with this for about 2 or 3 days (say you’re doing a week fast); then introduce a new food group a day. I’d start with milk/dairy first, and then meat last (since it takes a lot to digest).

Good luck!
