Baby Safety – List Of Tips To Keep Your Baby Safe
1. Keep your baby clean and neat, always.
2. Cut his nails regularly, properly and carefully.
3. Remove wet diapers at once.
4. Hygiene and cleanliness of genital the area should be maintained. Always keep genital parts dry. These body parts are prone to infection, especially when wet.
5. Clean the scalp regularly and properly to prevent dermatitis and fungal infections.
6. Baby clothing should be loose enough not to restrict body movements, ease aeration and prevent skin irritation.
7. Keep your baby’ room properly ventilated and lighted. Free it from insects and dusts.
8. Your Baby’ bed should be separate but close to mothers’. A water proof bed is preferable.
9. Musical toys are good for your baby. Turn them on and let him hear it.
10. Support your baby’s head when carrying him. His neck muscles are not yet strong enough to support sudden and snappy head movements.
11. For your baby’s nutrition needs, stick to mother’s milk. Mother’s breast milk is best. No known substitute can match its nutritional qualities. When breastfeeding, make yourself and your baby comfortable. Ensure too that your nipples are always clean. Take care of your health and diet from the time you lactate.
12. In case of difficulties with breastfeeding, feed your baby with cows’ milk. Sterilize feeding bottles with boiling water and keep them dry until their next use.
13. When nursing your baby with cows’ milk, you will need to further pasteurize or boil and cool it. There are viruses like brucellosis and bovine tuberculosis that easily spread through raw milk.
14. There are babies who are allergic to some substances or materials like milk, food, dress and cosmetics. Do not use any of them for your child when you are certain they are causing allergy.
15. Use mosquito nets regularly. Mosquito bites give rise to spread of deadly viral diseases like dengue, malaria, yellow fever and filariasis. They also cause skin eruptions when triggered by allergic reactions. Mosquitos are also irksome, their buzz and bites prevent people from sleeping soundly.
16. The surroundings must be kept calm when your baby sleeps. Infants need more sleep than adults. Growth hormones work hardest during sleep.
17. Keep track of the overall physical, motor, language, emotional, social and personal development of your child. Mark the normal development milestones at any given age. Measure weight and height regularly.
18. Bowel movement is frequent among infants. Potty train your baby as early as his 10th month.
19. Clean toilet seats using antiseptic liquid before and after their use. Do not let other children share one’s potty.
20. Seek doctor’s help everytime your baby shows symptoms of ailment. The signs include convulsions, excessive crying, fever, frequent vomiting, stiffneck, bluish body discoloration, diarrhea, breathing difficulty with grunting, etc.
21. Keep a separate first aid kit and medicine box for your child. Make sure first aid kits always contain dressing materials, sterile cotton, antiseptic ointment and lotion and forceps. Maintain a separate notebook containing contact information of doctors, police, ambulance services, and the like. Information on dosage and application procedures should be written on paper and posted close to the medicine box.
22. When driving with your baby on board, fix him with a separate seat belt.
23. When the baby goes out with you, put inside his small pocket his identity card and your contact information.
24. When your baby begins to walk, maintain your close distance to him and prevent possible injuries from accidental fall or slip.
25. Apply first aid in times of emergency. Lose no time in taking your baby to the hospital. Here are cases of emergency situations and the steps you can take:
a) Your baby may choke when he swallows solid objects that block his airpipes. Have your baby lie on his abdomen with his head in a lower position. Press the back towards his chest. You may also stroke his upper back. When all of this fails, call somebody who knows, has training or experience, and have hime help your take the object out using forceps.
b) In case of accidental poisoning, try to induce the baby to vomit. This aims to take the poisonous substance out of the body. But you may not do it if the cause of poisoning is either kerosene or acid. Wash the baby’s body with water so that further contamination through the skin may be prevented. Check to ensure what caused the poisoning and rush your baby to the hospital.
c) In case of burns, quickly take the baby away from heat’s source. Dampen it with cold and clean water. Do not remove burned clothes from the body at once. Cover wounds with sanitized cotton and rush the baby to the hospital.
d) In case of wounds, use clean water to sanitize the wound. Compress the wound and raise it above the baby’s heart level to control the bleeding. Make use of a tourniquet when applicable and when the bleeding continues. Apply dressing to the wound with sterile cotton or bandage. Then seek the help of a doctor.
e) In case of drowning in a bath tub, take your baby out quickly and keep his head in a low position. Press the chest gently or apply mouth to mouth rescusitation until the baby’s airpipes are clear and the baby is able to breath freely. Take him to a nearby hospital at once.
f) In case of electric shock, cut off the source of electricity. Apply mouth to mouth breathing and cardiac massage if the baby cannot breath on his own. Rush him to the hospital.
26. Finally, keeping babies safe requires total care, love and support. It is the way to keep them happly and healthy.
One the other hand, here is a list of what should not be done to keep your baby safe.
1. Do not shake your baby. The rough movement may cause damage to his brain.
2. Keep small items away from your baby.
3. Never give sharp and pointed objects like pencil or pen to kids.
4. Be careful not to let water enter into your baby’s ear when giving him bath.
5. Do not force your baby to take food when he is coughing or crying continuously.
6. Do not overfeed your baby.
7. Keep items or substances like mosquito repellents, ink, gum, moth balls, medicines, and the like away from your baby.
8. Do not use tight clothing for your baby.
9. Do not leave your baby perched on the edge of a bed.
10. Do not give your baby to strangers. Avoid having him in close contact with other persons.
11. Keep all electrical tools or devices away from your baby. Fix his bed away from electrical wires or sockets.
12. Do not leave your baby alone in your kitchen. This place is dangerous for kids.
13. Maintain water level in your bath tub to minimum and do not attend to other things like answering a phone call when your baby is taking a bath in your bath tub.
14. Do not allow smoking or smokers inside and within the premises of the house.
15. Do not allow pets to come in close contact with your baby. Make sure pets are injected with anti-rabies compounds and their nails are trimmed properly.
16. When your baby begins to walk, do not let him climb the steps or leave him unaccompanied upstairs.
17. Avoid very strong lighting inside your house.
18. When you and your baby travel, do not give your baby any food given by co-passengers.
19. Do not let your baby crawl on the ground or soil.
20. Avoid getting close to your baby when you are sick. Prevent your baby from getting near anyone who is sick.
21. Avoid taking your baby to crowded hospital wards, market places and dusty or polluted places.
22. Keep your baby away from table lamps. Lighting attracts insects and can cause problems.
23. Medicine should not be given to children when in doubt. Expired medicines should be discarded and never to be used.

7 Tips to Know if You Have a Healthy and Fit Body!
Can a person be both fit and fat? With a national obesity rate of nearly 30 percent, this is a question that needs to be answered. People do not seem to be actively looking for ways to be thin, and just because a person is thin does not mean they are fit either. So who, really, has a healthy and fit body and how can we get there from where we are?
First of all, most people think you have to hit the gym in order to be the healthiest you can be, and this is just not true. Although exercise does nothing but enhance your health, fitness is not the only answer. It is not always about how you look. It is not always about how you eat. Just like everything else, having a healthy and fit body has many components.
Here are 7 Tips to know, once and for all, if you have a healthy and fit body!
Healthy and Fit Body Tips #1: Proper Nutrition
Providing your body with the right food and liquid is the most important component to your health. If you struggling with weight loss and the inability to get yourself fit, start with a change in your diet. Eating right does not mean eating less. A soy-based meal replacement once a day works for me, along with a few targeted supplements you can not find in food.
Even people who exercise all the time can not be totally fit if they grab a bag of potato chips over an apple. No matter what you look like on the outside, your inside is what matters the most. If your body is not getting right nutrition, you can not expect it to look and feel good. You are what you eat. Never forget that.
Healthy and Fit Body Tips #2: Muscle Mass
Our bodies require a certain percentage of muscle to stay healthy and meet the tasks of daily living. This varies per individual, but after the age of 30, our bodies lose muscle mass each year. The key to restoring this is resistance exercise to keep muscle mass. To age gracefully by being fit, keep your muscle mass percentage high.
Healthy and Fit Body Tips #3: Body Fat
This your total body weight that is composed of fat. 10 percent to 14 percent is considered good for men, and 14 percent to 18 percent is considered good for women. Being too far below it and above it both have health risks. Unless you’re a weight-dependent athlete or a fitness model, you should strive to fall into your category.
Healthy and Fit Body Tips #4: Aerobic Endurance
I bet you do not think about how well your body transports oxygen, right? From shoveling snow to running a marathon, aerobic activity is a good indicator of good aerobic fitness. Your cardiovascular goal for fitness is simple. Get your heart rate up and hold it, then bring it down without becoming short of breath.
Healthy and Fit Body Tips #5: Strength
How much force can your muscles generate? Your body needs to be able to move stuff, and you, around. Mass protects your body, strength moves it and keeps it from falling over. Strength training requires short bouts of high-intensity outputs, much different from aerobic activity. Strength training slows the aging process, so the stronger you are, the slower you age.
Healthy and Fit Body Tips #6: Balance
Life is no fun if you’re always toppling over. Your ability to maintain control of your center of gravity is important for obvious reasons. To stay in balance your body uses smaller muscles to help keep your joints tracking properly. A person with good balance has less chance of incurring an injury. The next time you see an exercise ball, use it!
Healthy and Fit Body Tips #7: Flexibility
Your ability to move your body freely through a full range of motion does not require an advanced class of yoga. Simply start stretching your muscles more because they contract during exercise and the daily rigors of living. Keeping your muscles supple gives you a buffer against being injured and is an indicator of overall fitness. It will also help you age with less complications.
As you can easily tell, there are many components that are of equal importance in order to have a healthy and fit body. It is not just the way a person looks on the outside but rather a combination of many factors. You have the ability to change your body for the better just as easily as McDonalds can change it for the worse. The difference is developing the mindset of a person who chooses healthy over unhealthy.

Nutrition For Your Muscles
When planning a personal strength muscle-building program, one should consider more than just a physical training regimen. It is vital to plan a nutritional program as well, with emphasis on adequate calorie intake aimed at building lean muscle mass.It takes a large number of calories to fuel both workouts and tissue building. And it’s also important to get the right kinds of calories, particulary calories rich in carbohydrates, protein, fat and other nutrients.
Carbohydrates are the main energy source for strength training. They are stored in the muscles as glycogen, the all-important fuel that supplies energy for short, intense bursts of power. If your glycogen level is low, then the faster you will tire. Many athletes routinely load up on carbohydrates to maintain high levels of glycogen.
Protein is the main building block for muscle tissue and it’s important to consume just the right amount of protein. Most amateur body builders actually overestimate their protein needs. The daily recoimmended protein intake is about 0.6 to 0.8 grams per pound of body weight. That’s about 90 to 115 grams of protein/day for the 140-pound athlete and 128 to 164 grams for those weighing 200 pounds.
Fat is important as well but only a small amount is required to stay heatlhy. Less than 30% of your total daily calories should come from unsaturated fat.
Water, sports drinks, muscle supplements and creatine are other essential nutrients for an effective muscle-building program.
It takes eight glasses of water a day to stay in the pink of health and more than to replace all the fluids you lose during exercise. It is recommended that you drink 2 cups of fluid 2 hours before exercise, 4 to 8 ounces every 15 to 20 minutes during workouts and 16 ounces of water after exercise.
Sports drinks are especially effective for exercise sessons that last over an hour. Supplements that contain creatine, fluid and electrolyte replacers, carbohydrate supplements, and liquid meal replacers help build muscles.
Creatine gives the body more power during workouts, especially if combined with a good diet and strenghth training program. Meat is the best source for creatine. Typical dose for creatine loading is 5 grams of creatine monohydrate four times per day for 5 days. A maintenance dose of 2 grams per day can follow.

Liquid Vitamins and Weight Loss Products – Keeping you in Top Shape
You may have wondered several times whether it is necessary to take liquid vitamins or whether weight loss products are of any use for a body facing overweight issues. Most of those who reject the mere idea of it bring as arguments for their point of view a number of activities considered healthy and completed on a regular basis. Their perspective is fair enough: could we not simply eat healthy, drink water as much as our body needs it and exercise daily?
According to all commonsensical rules, our body should always be in its best condition if it completes successfully, regularly, such “tasks” and thus nutritional supplements in the form of liquid vitamins would no longer be required. The same, it should deal successfully with any weight loss issues and eliminate them just by approaching the healthy way of conducting your lifestyle. Well, let us look at a couple of arguments supporting the adding of such nutritional supplements in our regular diet and see what their benefits are for a healthy manner of living.
First, have you ever considered the fact that our regular meals no longer include the nutritious qualities they should include? Owing to the increasing number of technological methods for food farming and processing, our nourishment, which should contain high levels of certain nutrients, no longer includes the necessary amounts of healthy nutrients. Most frequently, the products we buy, even vegetables and fruits, lose their nutrition value in the processing techniques.
In addition, the nutrition value of our regular meals decreases because of the cooking methods we apply. Boiling and frying food ingredients destroys most of the nutrients remaining after the processing of the product. Of course, in the case where you opt for unprocessed foods, you are exempt from the obvious disadvantages of cooked food. However, you do have to find a way toward a reliable supplier of such organic products managed and cropped in the most natural circumstances.
The fact is this: fresh fruits and vegetables contain the highest levels of nutrients if farmed in conditions as natural as possible. The more we delay the moment of eating them, after having picked them up, the more nutrients they lose. This nutrient depletion process aggravates if we cook such natural products. In addition, contrary to what most people assume, nutrient depletion does not lead to successful weight loss results. On the contrary, it will push the body forth into assimilating the necessary substances in disproportionate amounts, thus turning any weight loss prospects into unavailing efforts.
Second, an incredible number of unseen toxins are surrounding us. This happens daily and many of us are not even aware of the fact. Toxins are an unmatched source of stress on our body. Consider the fact that even water that we think drinkable and that we need so much includes toxins. Of course, the most appropriate manner of counterbalancing the effect of these toxins is by providing our body with the nutritional support it needs.
We have already seen that nutrient depletion in our regular meals is a common phenomenon. This is why we cannot provide the nutritional support our body needs when attacked by toxins by simply eating the processed and improperly cooked regular foods. Therefore, what you need, what your body requires is a strong basis of liquid vitamins that would provide the nutritional support we were mentioning. Moreover, to what concerns diet pills, they will not fail to supply the same support. Our weight loss products are natural and they will help you lose weight efficiently while maintaining healthy your body.
Liquid vitamins will counteract successfully low levels of nutrition value and high levels of toxins. The fact that our body absorbs easily such nutritional supplements comes to reinforce their advantages. As compared to other vitamins, i.e. those that we take in solid form, we do not risk wasting or not absorbing liquid ones. They reach rapidly the blood stream and begin their benefic influence immediately after that. If you want health at optimal levels, then such nutritional support is indispensable.

Nutrition drinks.?
I had anorexia for 2 years, but last year i began to start to eat stuff like toast and cereal and i got into eating meals and more food and i put on weight. I have a phobia of being sick (vomiting) which was the cause for stopping me to eat, but recently i’ve been scared to eat again from the phobia, and i drink 3 nestle nutrition shakes a day as i only want liquids and im geting around 500/600 cals a day, do you think this is enough just to have shakes in a day.
Oooo, this is tricky.
First of all congratulations for working yourself back to actually eating, that’s great!
Second of all this is medical advice your asking for. Don’t use the Internet as a source for medical advice. Please see your physician first.
Those 2 years were very hard on your body. 500-600 calories is not enough to keep you healthy. Drinking your calories is not a great way to get nutrition either. Make your body work, eat solid foods.
Toast is good. Look into the BRATS diet. That would help psychosomatically. You know that that’s what they give children to ease their stomachs when recovering from vomiting. In other words if you eat these foods you should never vomit. Bananas, Rice, Apples, Toast. Try that for a while. Of course ease you way into it. Keep drinking the shakes that has good protein which helps build muscle. Once you’re able to gain weight ease your way into a decent exercises routine. Stretch and work on your core strength.
Take baby steps. Remember this is your livelihood you’re talking about if you don’t get better you could harm vital organs and possibly die. The only thing vomiting will do is harm the enamel on your teeth and inconvenience you and hurt a bit. Look into breathing techniques that help you fight the urge to vomit. There are even sprays that can numb your gag reflex.
The idea is to fight the phobia with simple tools. Like the brat diet and gag reflex numbing agents. You can even try placebo phenegran. That is an antiemetic that helps you not vomit. Or even placebo Zofran. Of course talk to a physician about this, please.
This is a very serious condition so make sure you have a professional monitoring your progress.
Good luck and I hope you get better!
One quick disclaimer: Make sure you consult your physician before you make any diet changes and start a work out plan.
question about liquid nutrition plus?
its a generic cvs brand of ensure plus…
it has the same active ingredients.
im drinking these to help me gain weight cause im sick & loosing weight.
and since i have a high metabolism as it is, it’ll be hard for me to gain that weight back.
im sixteen years old, 5’3 and 103 pounds. i lost 5 pounds in the last month.
i always wanted to be at least 120 for once!
will these drinks help with that, and how many of them should i take in a day?
how long will it take to gain 15 pounds?
i want to GAIN weight, not loose it
they are 8 fl oz cans in the U.S
i eat soo much….i just cant ever seem to gain weight, its my high metabolism
Ensure Plus will help you gain weight as it is a high calorie high protein drink (1.5 cal/ml).
You need to aim for ~2,500 kJ per day (divide by 4.2 for calories) in addition to your normal energy requirements (say ~7,500 kJ for someone your age) to promote weight gain (around 0.5 – 1 kg each week). Based on this you should drink ~ 2 cartons a day (are they 200ml tetras? they are in Australia). The calculation for this is based on the Ensure Plus providing ~6,200 kJ if you drink 1L.
Alternatively you can look for a 2 cal/ml nutritional supplement (e.g. Two Cal) or a powdered additive (e.g. Enprocal, Beneprotein, Polyjoule, Sustagen powder although that has a vanilla flavour). Add these powdered supplements to soup, custard, scrambled eggs, fruit smoothies etc.
Remember to also increase your total energy intake using ‘good’ or healthy fats. e.g. nuts, seeds, extra olive oil on your salad, avocado on your salad.
I also highly recommend you see a Dietitian (a registered dietitian) for further advice.
I hope this helps and good luck with the weight gain. I apologise for the metric units I don’t have anything with me to convert.
Addit: that can is similar to the tetra packs, I would recommend 2 cans a day between meals (e.g. morning and afternoon tea) so that you don’t fill up on the liquid. Make sure that you are eating small frequent meals (main meals + 3 snacks). Add skim milk powder to your milk and cereal in the morning. You may find that as you get older your metabolism will slow down and you won’t find it so difficult to maintain your weight. Try not to eat fatty foods (e.g. takeaway etc with saturated fats) as while this will help you gain weight it is not a healthy option.
Science Behind Ultimate Gum Solution’
Science Behind Ultimate Gum Solution’. Ultimate Gum Solution is 100% natural liquid nutrition with strongest antibacterial. According to Dr. Price’s Dental Infections:. ‘It seems probable we will come more and more to speak of them as the degenerative diseases, since they constitute the slow loss of function, with structural degeneration, of various organs and tissues of the body. The government statistics speak of them frequently as old-age diseases, and it is pathetic that so many individuals are slowly dying of old age anywhere from 30 years on.’. Further according to Dr. Price research conclusion was that Nutritional Deficiencies are the major cause of dental decay. That is why when Dr. Price found out that although radically different in diets the 14 tribal group has complete immunity to tooth decay and resistance to disease. These 14 tribal group has primitive life style away from the civilized world not using processed foods and sugar in the their diets.. As soon as these tribal group started to use processed foods and sugar in the their diets their tooth decay started with many other diseases.. According to Dr. George Meinig,D.D.S. who is meticulous research specialist on Dr. Price’s research work said in his book ‘Root Canal Cover-Up’.. ‘The most powerful force driving me to report Dr. Price’s work to America and the world is the fact many people are suffering severe ill health, and even premature death, because of these Dental and other Focal Infections. By Dr. Price’s simple experiment of placing root filled or other infected teeth under the skin of rabbits, he has given us an IRON-CLAD method to demonstrate whether a Tooth sterilization method is successful.’. I trust that not only lay readers but the medical and dental professions as well will, at long last, recognize how easily focal infections in TEETH, TONSILS or other tissues can be transferred to other organs and tissues and can end up causing endocarditis in HEARTS, Nephritis in Kidneys, and a whole host of other devastating illnesses.. Since nutritional deficiencies are the major cause of dental decay, The ingredients of Ultimate Gum Solution is 100% natural liquid nutrition with strongest antibacterial.. All About Healthy Diet And Nutrition – How To Eat Right
With the fast-paced, technologically driven world people are now living, who would have the slightest idea that the most important rampart of normal living is being neglected?
Undeniably, because of the busy courses of people’s lives, people tend to forget some of the vital fragments in maintaining a healthy lifestyle diet and nutrition.
THE CONVERGENCE
The terms “diet” and “nutrition” are defined into two different sentences but are greatly connected. By definition, “diet” refers to the food and liquid intake of a person while “nutrition” pertains to the science of dealing with food and nourishment. When these two are combined, an entirely new meaning can be derived. More than the issues of food and liquid intake and the science of food and nourishment, diet and nutrition can revolve around nutritional information on various dietary supplements and the benefits vitamins and minerals to a person’s body.
Making yourself familiar with latest diet and nutrition topics, trends, and tips can lead you to the renewal of your health and well being commitment inside your home. You must remember that it’s never too late to redirect your eating habits, but before you take that drastic change, learn what are the common diet and nutrition mistakes so you can avoid them.
1. Careless assumption that the food choices you have are better than they actually are. Experts say that people who are very particular about diet and nutrition have larger tendencies of thinking and believing that their food choices are healthier than they really are. Make sure that you eat whole, fresh, and unprocessed foods whenever possible.
2. Confusion over carbohydrates. Although many people say that low carb diets are effective, experts say that there are excellent carbs that make people eat less. So before you cut down on carbs totally, make sure that you have consulted your dietician if this diet will be good for you.
3. You think you’re eating too much when you’re not. Experts say that one of the most common mistakes people make is that they overestimate and underestimate the amount of food their body needs. Make sure that you monitor the portion sizes of your food.
4. Not eating enough food or not eating often. Overeating and under eating may put the person at risk because it disrupts disrupting blood sugar and insulin levels. Make sure that you eat something every three hours and don’t starve before eating the next meal.
5. Neglecting the value of regular exercise. Making exercise a regular part of your life can definitely contribute to great diet and nutrition.
6. Taking in a lot of dietary supplements. A vitamin or dietary pill is a supplement that is meant to complement a person’s diet; therefore it should not be considered as substitutes for the foods you’re supposed to be eating. Experts say that one all-purpose multivitamin a day is enough to complement the nutrients you don’t get from the foods you don’t eat.
7. Following nutrition and weight loss guidelines by the book. Since people are different, it is only natural for them to have individual needs. Although diet and nutrition plans work for the majority of people, not everything can help you improve you overall diet and nutrition.
One of the major reasons why people get overweight or suffer from minor and major health risks is that they don’t practice having a healthy diet. Healthy diet which include eating balanced amount of food from all food groups along with exercise or regular physical activity can lessen people’s inclination to health problems.
PLANNING ON A HEALTHY DIET
Experts say that though basic principle of healthy diet is simple, most people are having a hard time sticking to it. Major reasons may include a super busy lifestyle, work that causes a lot of stress or even an environment that is not conducive to having a healthy diet.
Although it is hard to start and maintain a healthy diet, nothing is impossible if you really want to achieve a healthy mind and body. For starters, it is advisable to mix up food choices from each food group. Eating a large variety of foods and veggies can also serve as a warm up in avoiding the foods that contribute to drastic weight gain. 4. Try to cut down on saturated fats and sugars. Do not totally cut down on fats because your body needs it to stay healthy. Basically, fats are categorized into saturated and unsaturated fat. The former has high amount of cholesterol and the latter has lower amounts that lowers blood cholesterol. Cut down only on foods that are high in saturated fat such meat pies, sausages, hard cheese, butter and lard, pastry, cakes and biscuits, cream and the like. Also monitor your sugar intake because aside from causing decay, sugary foods can also be high in calories that contribute to weight gain.
